The Experience
The Sirikwa Classic is one of Kenya’s premier cross-country spectacles, and as a spectator you’ll definitely experience:

Admission

General spectators: Admission to the Sirikwa Classic is generally free depending on the sponsor year’s policies.

Premium zones: VIP grandstands & athlete zones may require invitations for sponsors, guests, and media.
Access Control

Security checks: Expect bag checks and brief security screening at entry points for everyone’s safety.

No prohibited items: A full list of prohibited items will be published before the event.


Parking & Getting There


Venue Parking

On-site parking: Lobo Village has ample parking fields for spectators arriving by car, matatu, or private van. Parking attendants and signage help direct traffic.

Parking fee: A small contribution/parking fee may apply to support venue operations.

Transport Options

Drive yourself: Use Google Maps or GPS to navigate from Eldoret city centre to Lobo Village, Kapseret. The road is tarmacked most of the way.

Public transport: Matatus and boda-bodas (motorcycle taxis) from Eldoret can drop you near the venue; a walk of a few minutes may be required.

Shuttles: Some clubs and fan groups organise shuttle services from central Eldoret before the race.
Aim to arrive 2–3 hours before the marquee races to find good parking and spectator spots, especially in family and finish line zones.

What to Expect on Race Day
Race Schedule

Events start with junior and short races (e.g., 500 m & 1 km) early in the morning.

Under-20 and Elite races follow — including competitive 6 km, 8 km, and senior 10 km Gold-level races for men and women.

The finals (senior races) will run mid-morning.
Early Bird Advantage

Shaded seating or grass areas.

Warm snacks and drinks at vendors.

Entire race build-up and awards.
Best Viewing Spots

Finish Line Area: Great for seeing winners cross and watching the sprint to the tape.

Course Turns & Hills: Excellent for photographing action and cheering athletes as they battle undulating terrain.

Amenities

Food & drink stalls: Local vendors with snacks, fresh juices, and bottled water.
