About the Organisers
The Sirikwa Classic is a Gold-level event —the highest tier of international cross-country competitions. This status attracts elite runners from Kenya and around the world, offering higher ranking points and global recognition. The event is organised in partnership with Athletics Kenya, playing a key role in coordination and execution to meet strict technical, safety, and anti-doping standards.
Event Organisation
The event is sanctioned by World Athletics and Athletics Kenya (AK), ensuring full compliance with international competition rules, anti-doping regulations, and athlete eligibility requirements. Strategic oversight, technical planning, and race management are guided by Athletics Kenya in partnership with experienced event professionals, technical officials, and volunteers.
The Sirikwa Classic is designed to promote elite cross country competition while nurturing emerging talent, supporting grassroots development, and positioning Kenya as a global hub for distance running excellence.
Local Organising Committee (LOC)
The Local Organising Committee (LOC) plays a central role in planning and delivering the Sirikwa Classic Cross Country. The LOC brings together representatives from Athletics Kenya, regional athletics associations, security agencies, medical teams, sponsors, and community stakeholders.
