A Classic With A Past And A Future
The Legend of Sirikwa
Long before runners carved trails across these hills, the land was shaped by the Sirikwa people. Their name traces back to Xirikwa, son of King Ak Tabnai, the founder of the Kalenjin who established a tribe whose legacy still echoes today—not only in the Rift Valley foothills, but as far afield as Uganda and South Africa. Though the Sirikwa were eventually absorbed into other tribes and faded from history, the Sirikwa Classic resurrects their spirit, letting them rise once more to claim the land they once ruled.
